APPLE VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL
GIRLS HOCKEY BOOSTER CLUB
Founded in February 1996
Revised September 1998

Mission Statement

Provide financial and volunteer assistance to the Apple Valley High School girls hockey program.

Participation

AVHS varsity and junior varsity girls’ hockey players and their parents are required to support the booster club efforts and have fun. It is expected that a player’s parents attend the monthly meeting of the booster club, held the first Monday of the month. Younger girls in the AV Hockey Association or other interested parties may also choose to participate in fundraising projects for the Girls Hockey Booster Club.

Annual Goal

Raise funds to meet or exceed the annual budget projections established be the coaches and the booster club. Players must contribute this annual amount through fundraising activities or personal contribution.

Player Fund Raising

The booster club will provide fund raising opportunities to help players meet their annual financial requirements. The net profit from each fundraiser will be determined at its conclusion. The amount will be subtracted from the player’s individual financial requirement.

Once a player has met her financial requirement, 100% of all future net profits will be added to the player’s individual account.

General Fund Raising

Each player and family is required to participate in all of the general booster club fundraisers, such as the annual Spaghetti Dinner and the Taste Test. Profits from these activities support the general booster club fund rather than an individual’s account.

Player’s Accounts

Once a player has exceeded her annual financial requirement, excess funds in her account may be requested from the treasurer to finance only these approved hockey expenses: hockey camps, hockey equipment, or additional hockey team expenses. A player’s excess funds will be carried over each year. Graduating seniors will have until June 1st of the following year to request disbursement for approved hockey related expenses. After that time, the monies will be transferred to the general booster club fund and will no longer be available to the player.

The club members who are not current members of this year’s high school team are not required to make the initial high school contribution. They can use 50% of the funds they raise for hockey related expenses with the remaining 50% going to the booster club fund.
